Blanca Turrubiate- Simpson is set to release her book, Within The House of Murdaugh November 7, 2025 .
Blanca Turrubiate-Simspon, who served as the Murdaugh family housekeeper for over two decades, is set to release her memoir, “Within the House of Murdaugh” On November 7,2025. In the book, she offers an intimate portrait of life inside one of South Carolina’s most prominent families, sharing her deep friendship with Maggie Murdaugh and revealing the private routines of the household.
But Simspon’s memoir goes beyond personal recollections. She also recounts the troubling details she observed in the house and days following the 2021 murders of fifty-two year oldĀ Maggie Murdaugh, and her twenty-two year old son Paul. These observations including oddly parked cars, out of place clothing, and a beach towel seen in Alex Murdaugh’s SUV ultimately led her to believe that the former attorney Alex Murdaugh was responsible for the killings.
“We do not know many of the details that happened before, during, and after the murders, but I have my theories,”Ā Simpson writes. “I intend to share those theories with you, weaving in my unique experiences and reflections from Within the House of Murdaugh.”(Simpson, November 7,2025).
The tragic Murders occurred on June 7,2021, at the Murdaugh estate in South Carolina. Alex Murdaugh called 9-1-1 reporting that he had discovered the bodies of his wife and son near the family’s dog kennel however, evidence, including a Snapchat video, placed him at the crime scene earlier that evening. After a lengthy investigation, Alex was indicted in July 2022 on two counts of murder and two counts of possession of a weapon during a crime. Prosecutors argued at his 2023 trial that the killings were a cover for his years of financial wrongdoing, including embezzling millions from his clients. He was convicted on all charges in March 2023 and sentenced to two consecutive life terms without parole.
In her memoir, Simpson emphasize the importance of remembering Maggie and Paul beyond headlines and speculation. She writes, “Based on my numerous conversations with Maggie, the hours I spent journaling, and the solid memories I have, I intend to share who Maggie truly was within her home, away from the judgment and scrutiny of the outside world. My goal is to present her in a way that ensures she will not be forgotten. She and her son, Paul, seem to have become mere footnotes in this horrific story.” (Simspon, November 7,2025).
