On March 15th 2026, Hollywood actor Michael B Jordan became the 6th black man to win an Academy award for best actor. Michael B Jordan has been in multiple successful films including Sinners, Black Panther, Creed 2, Creed, And Fruitvale station. All of those films were directed by Ryan Coogler, who is a good friend to Michael. The two have very great chemistry. Which led to Michael’s “first oscar, for which he triumphed over a strong field including Timothee Chalamet for Marty Supreme, Ethan Hawke for Blue Moon and Leonardo DiCaprio for One Battle After Another”(Shoard March 15, 2026). Michael B Jordan’s oscar was well overdue and deserved.

He has “earned recognition through his strong and adaptable acting performances for 25 years”(Washington March 19, 2026). Many people that see the Oscars that don’t usually watch the media might think Michael’s success came overnight or he just got lucky but that’s far from the truth. 25 years of acting and creating masterpieces and showing his raw acting abilities isn’t easy, because if it was, everyone would be an academy award winner. Michael B “Jordan was the first actor to win the award for playing twins”(Beame March 16, 2026). Playing twin brothers in sinners could arguably be Michael B Jordan’s best performance.

Not only because he has to work twice as hard because he is playing twins, but he has to get every characteristic to be unique and creative for the audience to fully understand the message of the movie. Overall Michael B Jordan Became the 6th black actor to win the best actor oscar award from his performance in sinners in which he acts as twin brothers. Hopefully Michael B Jordan continues his success and continues to be great in future films.
